At the heart of our documentary approach lies a simple yet powerful ambition: to bring forth the most discreet voices and magnify the dignity of every journey. Inspired by the striking reality of the cardboard gleaners in South Korea – these elders forced to survive on the fringes of a booming society – we found a striking paradox. Between the splendor of the Hallyu and a silent poverty, an unknown story unfolds. It is this fracture, this neglected humanity, that our team strives to explore with a sensitive and ambitious approach. Meet the minds that work to embody this artistic and profoundly human vision.
This documentary is the result of a collective commitment and invaluable collaboration. We want to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who made this adventure possible.
Our first and heartfelt thanks go to Sang-man LEE, Yong-chul WON, and Cheon-rae JO. Their testimonies and the time they granted us during our trip gave this project a unique and essential meaning. Without them, this documentary simply wouldn't have the same soul.
We also thank the Gamman Welfare Center and the CCLIM association, whose support and involvement were crucial. Their key role helped to bring many aspects of our work to fruition.
This project could not have come to life without academic and institutional support. A huge thank you to our tutor Stéphane LEVY as well as our professors Pierre BOUREAU, Sylvain ZORNINGER, Mariette AUVRAY for their constant listening and invaluable advice. We are also indebted to Gustave Eiffel University and Dong-Eui University for providing a conducive environment for research and creation.
A special thank you to Thierry BONZON, Minchol CHA, and Gihoon YU for their indispensable help.
This project is a true French-Korean collaboration, and its richness largely stems from the commitment of our Korean members: Hyunbeom PARK, Jiwoo YUN, Suyeon YANG, Jiyeong SHIN, and Junghyun LIM. Thank you all for your precious contribution.
Finally, we want to express our sincere thanks to everyone who supported and advised us, directly or indirectly, in the realization of this project, even if they are not individually mentioned here. Your help has been invaluable.
A huge thank you to our generous contributors:
